Our Story
Bean & Bough has been on the same block of NE Alberta since 2014 — six counter seats, no WiFi, and the best pour-over in Portland.

NE Alberta St, Portland
Where we started
Bean & Bough opened on NE Alberta Street in 2014 with a simple idea: a small room, a handful of counter seats, good beans, and enough quiet to think. No meeting tables. No conference-call backdrop. Just coffee, made carefully, for whoever walked in.
We source single-origin beans roasted across the river, and our house pastries come from the bakery two doors down. The neighborhood feeds us — it's only right that we give it back a good cup.
A six-seat counter, a dog-friendly patio, and a deliberate decision to skip the WiFi. Some things are worth protecting.
Independent. Always.
Our mission
"Coffee is an excuse to slow down. We make sure the cup is good enough to justify the pause."
We exist for the person who wants to start their morning right, the regular who knows their order without saying it, and the first-time visitor who leaves wondering why they waited this long to walk in.
What drives us
Every bean has a place and a story. We don't blend away its character — we brew to reveal it.
Our pastries come from two doors down. Our beans are roasted across the river. This block takes care of its own.
We made a deliberate choice. Six seats. Present company. The corner is your real-life browser tab.
Pour-over takes time. We think that's a feature, not a bug. Good things don't rush.
The people & the place
Every person who works at Bean & Bough knows the farmers behind the beans they brew. That's not a brand line — it's how we make sure you taste the difference.
The space is small on purpose. Six counter seats means six real conversations. The patio fits a handful of tables and one very patient dog — usually yours.

What's in the cup
Roasted across the river. Brewed to order. The current rotation changes with the season — ask the barista what's on.
Baked two doors down, delivered every morning. When they're gone, they're gone — another reason to get here early.
Come find us
No reservations. No loyalty app. Just walk in, take a seat at the counter, and tell us what sounds good.
